Lefschetz collections and residual categories for Grassmannians

Abstract: I will try to explain and motivate the notion of Lefschetz (exceptional) collections in derived categories of coherent sheaves and their residual categories and, in particular, its conjectural relation to quantum cohomology. If time permits, I will discuss recent progress in construction of Lefschetz collections for Grassmannians of classical groups. This is joint work with Maxim Smirnov.
